Shopping

Love it Twice
972 Putney Rd, Brattleboro, VT 05301

Whippersnappers
896 Putney Rd Unit 5, Brattleboro, VT 05301

With kids constantly outgrowing clothes and toys, make sure to stop by Love it Twice and Whippersnappers. These two consignment stores have new and gently loved clothes, toys, and more for all ages. Love it Twice even has maternity items for those expecting. Both stores are within about 10 minutes of the campground. Due to the unique nature of consignment, each store will offer different items, so it's definitely worth going to both! Don’t forget to swing into the Brattleboro North KOA Journey gift shop for all kinds of souvenirs. From stuffed animals to t-shirts, we’re sure you’ll find something for everyone.

Retreat Farm
45 Farmhouse Sq, Brattleboro, VT 05301

Have a child who loves farms? Well, then you must make sure to stop over at the Retreat farm to see the goat playground as well as Carlos the ox and Sassy the donkey. Their Forest Playground is a perfect detour from the Nature Trail and is the starting point for the Storybook walk. Let the kids get a little messy in the mud kitchen, jump stumps, and build forts. If you are visiting over the summer and fall, you can even enjoy one of their many events, like the food truck round-up. The bonus is Grafton Village Cheese is right on the property, so you can grab yourself a snack picnic from what they offer.

Santa’s Land
655 Bellows Falls Rd, Putney, VT 05346

From mid-July to the end of the season, Santa’s Land is a great place for younger kids. Perfect spot to meet Santa, take a ride on an Alpine express train and play miniature golf. They have a unique country gift shop filled with ornaments and Vermont maple products.

Hogback Mountain
7627 VT-9, Marlboro, VT 05363

Just thirty minutes west of Brattleboro North KOA you will find yourself at Hogback Mountain’s famous 100-mile view. There is no hiking involved to enjoy the overlook, just pull over next to the gift shop and enjoy what nature has to offer.

Vermont Canoe Touring Center
 451 Putney Rd, Brattleboro, VT

Located at the confluence of the West and Connecticut Rivers, you can rent canoes, kayaks, and paddle boards at the Vermont Canoe Touring Center. After you enjoy a day of paddling you can pit stop at the Marina Restaurant, which is right across the street. Our favorite bites here are the steamed mussels and lobster bisque.

Latchis Theater
50 Main St, Brattleboro, VT 05301

The Latchis Theater has hosted performances, events, first-run movies, art and independent films since 1938. Not only does it have the largest movie screen in Southern Vermont but it also features beautiful Greek murals by the Hungarian-American painter Louis Jambor. Don’t forget to look up, the ceiling is covered in the zodiac constellations.
